Notice the light.
Measure more.
LumaScope turns light readings into a clearer picture — from your desk and favourite monstera to the next frame you capture.
Android 8.0 and later · Prepared for Google Play release

From a single reading
to a whole day’s story.
Live charts, recording sessions and saved observations. Understand the conditions, compare your results and notice what changes.

Measure in the moment
Use the ambient sensor or a calibrated camera. Minimum, maximum, mean and a quick four-second reading.

Keep your observations
Sessions, notes, places and favourites. Compare records and export PDF reports or CSV data.

Find the right spot
Plant profiles, target ranges, measurement history and estimated PPFD / DLI.
A brighter idea for your plants.
Find a place for each plant and follow how its light changes throughout the day.
- Your plants and ready-to-use light profiles
- Target ranges and a history of measurements
- Projected DLI and the dose actually observed
PPFD and DLI are estimates based on illuminance and the selected light source. Recording gaps do not count as observed dose.
Light for your next frame.
Bring your shooting settings together before you press the shutter.
- EV, ISO, aperture, shutter speed and compensation
- ND filters, frame rate and shutter angle
- Saved personal settings
Exposure values are calculated estimates. Results depend on the phone, calibration and measurement conditions.
Your readings
stay with you.
No accounts, analytics or internet access in the app. Measurements, notes and settings stay on your phone. You decide when to export a report or make a backup.
Read the privacy policy ↗Before your first reading
Do I need to calibrate?
Camera estimates require a reference illuminance value and the same matte reference surface. The ambient sensor can use its factory readings; reference calibration is available in the app.
Can I record with the screen off?
Yes. Start background recording from the open app. A persistent notification provides recording controls. Availability and endurance depend on permissions, hardware and Android restrictions.
Do I need an internet connection?
Measurements and the journal work offline. The app does not have internet permission. A different app used to share a report follows its own network settings and privacy policy.
Does it replace a professional light meter?
Accuracy depends on the phone hardware and calibration. Camera illuminance, PPFD / DLI and exposure values are estimates. Use an appropriately certified instrument for compliance checks or safety-critical decisions.
