About this policy
This policy describes LumaScope: Light Meter & Log for Android (package com.lumascope.lightmeter), provided by GBApps. Privacy contact: mail@gbapps.company.
Readings and camera access
The app processes ambient-light sensor readings and, when you grant camera permission and select that source, camera exposure metadata such as ISO, exposure time and aperture. Camera frames are processed in memory for the live preview; the app does not save or upload photos or video. Camera access is not needed to use an available ambient-light sensor.
Information stored on your phone
Measurements, timestamps, original and calibrated values, calibration settings, recording source, session statistics, titles, notes, places you enter, favourites, plants, photo presets, app preferences and a randomly generated installation identifier are stored locally. Place names are entered by you; the app does not request GPS location. The installation identifier helps associate calibration with a device installation and is not sent to GBApps.
No automatic collection or transmission
LumaScope has no internet permission, account system, advertising or analytics SDK. GBApps does not receive your measurements or monitor your app activity. Automatic Android cloud backup is disabled. The app does not sell your data or share it automatically with third parties.
Permissions and background recording
Camera permission enables the camera measurement source. Notification permission allows recording status and optional range alerts to appear. Foreground-service and wake-lock permissions support a recording you explicitly start from the open app. Background camera recording continues camera access while that session runs. A persistent recording notification provides controls; you can stop recording in the app or notification. Permission availability and notification visibility also depend on your Android settings. You can revoke permissions in Android settings.
Exports, sharing and backups
You can create PDF and CSV exports and versioned JSON backups using Android’s file picker or sharing menu. You choose the destination and any receiving app or service. These files can include notes, places and calibration details. A receiving service processes them under its own policy. Imported backups are processed locally. Store exported files securely; GBApps cannot recover a lost local backup.
Retention and deletion
Local records remain until you delete them or clear app data. You can delete journal records and other saved items in the app. Clearing LumaScope storage in Android settings or uninstalling removes its local app data. Files exported to another folder or service remain there until you delete them separately. Stopping a recording does not delete its saved samples.
If you contact support
If you email us, your email provider and our mail service process the message. GBApps receives the address, message and attachments you choose to send, uses them to handle your request, and retains correspondence only as needed for support and applicable obligations. Do not send sensitive backup files unless necessary. You can ask about or request deletion of support correspondence at the contact above, subject to obligations that require retention.
This website
This public website is separate from the offline app. Your browser sends standard connection data, including an IP address and requested resource, so the server can deliver a page. Hosting or security logs, if enabled, may contain request time and browser information. This site adds no analytics, advertising trackers, cookies or registration forms. Opening an email link or another service is your choice and is governed by that service’s policy.
Children and changes
There are no accounts or age-verification profiles. We do not intentionally collect children’s information through the app. If a child sends personal information to support, contact us to request its removal. Material changes to this policy will be reflected here with an updated date; a future version that changes app data practices must be assessed using its updated policy.
